Tablets such as Apple’s iPad, and its android alternatives, are changing the way people work, think and play. Not only full of the latest addictive games, videos and eBooks, these devices are making their mark on the meetings industry in a big way, and showing a real return on investment.

Here are CMW’s top picks:

Meeting Minute Manager App: A simple application, which allows users to prepare the minutes during the meeting, manage, store and mail to others afterwards.

Meeting Mngr Pro: Extremely interactive, this app connects many iPads together and allows users to share their documents on other’s screens without the needing an online server or internet connection.

Meeting Mate: A handy accessory for an organiser during the day of the event, this app allows users to take notes, create an agenda, keep track
of attendees, email meeting notes and send meeting invites.

Super Planner:
It provides tools such as calculations for venue capacity, staffing, catering, staging and projections.

OotoWeb EventGuide:
Recognised by the EIBTM 2010 Worldwide Technology Watch, the EventGuide app allows a user to create mobile websites for events, send onsite alerts to delegates, process registration payments and other attendee management services. It is an expensive product unless you use its services multiple times but does have
a cheaper not-for-profit edition.

MindNode:
It is a mind mapping device that helps you visualise your ideas by helping a user collect, classify, and structure them. Good for the big picture of an event.

Soundnote: It tracks what users type in meetings while recording audio, so you never have to worry about missing anything. During playback, just tap a word and the app will jump to the audio.

Home Interior Layout Designer: Ever had a difficult time picturing what the conference room would look like after all the furniture and staging is in place? This app lets users create rooms, add objects and item checklists.
