Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) has announced the recent graduation of two more of its students, having awarded them each a Diploma of Event Management (SIT50316). Melissa Oudshoorn and Kelly Hutchinson are now formally events-qualified members of the Australian event industry workforce. A comprehensive course, MEA’s accredited Diploma is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the dynamic world of event planning and execution. Guided by industry experts committed to their learning, Melissa and Kelly have acquired the competence to conceptualise and design captivating event experiences, manage logistics and budgets, and apply sector-founded project management, marketing, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication strategies to their events. MEA CEO, Peter McDonald congratulates the two newest graduates, “Completing a tertiary qualification is no mean feat. I congratulate both Melissa and Kelly on earning their Diploma of Event Management and becoming MEA’s newest graduates. “The diversity of Kelly’s and Melissa’s current jobs shows how relevant our course is right across the breadth of the industry. We look forward to their future professional success, knowing this qualification will play a part in underwriting that.” Hutchinson adds: “This was all very new to me so now I have the tools and confidence that I need to succeed in Event Management.” Oudshoorn shares her experience: “I learned a wide range of valuable skills and knowledge that will help me into the future. I have worked in the event industry for a number of years and the course gave me a greater insight into areas I haven’t been exposed to such as marketing, design and theming.” Those interested in investing in or further developing event manager skills can find more information on the MEA website.
