The training is provided by Events Academy Africa, in partnership with the Uganda Tourism Board, the Uganda Convention Bureau, the Private Sector Foundation Uganda and the Competitive Enterprise Development Project.

As a first phase, in-person training will last until 4 October. After this, the training will go online. In the 12th week, an in-person review session will take place with certificates awarded to attendees who complete the full training.

According to the 2023 ICCA Africa ranking, Uganda ranked 7th overall. Its capital city, Kampala, ranked 4th in Africa for most association meetings hosted.

The Events Academy Africa team consists of Zelda Coetzee (lead consultant) and Gwynneth Matthews.
