Brand USA, the nation’s destination marketing organisation, has announced new leadership for its 2025 board of directors.
The 11-member board is appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce in consultation with US Secretaries of State and Homeland Security. Each director represents a travel and tourism industry sub-sector and can serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.
The newly appointed members include: Danny Hughes (president of Hilton, Americas) – representing hotel accommodation Gus Antorcha, president of Princess Cruises – representing land or sea transportation
The reappointed members include: Todd Davidson (CEO of Travel Oregon) – representing state tourism Elliott Ferguson (CEO of Destination DC) – representing city convention and visitors’ bureaux Lauren Bailey (CEO of Upward Projects) – representing restaurants
Elliott Ferguson will also serve as board chair. He commented that “we want the global community to know that the US is welcoming, and we’re prioritising all things tied to making travel safe and easy for visitors to come here”. He also noted that the recovery of the Asian market and others have been strong, but not “as emphasised”.
President and CEO of Brand USA Fred Dixon said that the DMO’s work is vital to “help advance the vital work of promoting the US to global travel audiences”.
