CANADA – The Vancouver Convention Centre West building has won the highest level of LEED certification.
The building, opened in April 2009, was awarded Platinum certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.It is the first convention centre in the world to receive this level of the award.
Vancouver Convention Centre general manager Ken Cretney says: “This designation is a reflection of years of hard work and thorough planning by Centre staff.
Green features of the building include a six acre ‘living’ roof, the largest of its kind in Canada.
