AMERICAS – Vancouver Convention Centre‘s (VCC) Executive Chef Blair Rasmussen will be inducted to the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame’s class of 2012.
The BC Restaurant Hall of Fame recognises individuals in the industry who have made significant contributions to the British Columbia scene. Inductees are chosen by a panel of industry peers and will be formally honoured at a gala on 15 October.
Rasmussen will receive the Industry Award recognising individuals who have demonstrated professionalism working in the industry.
“Running a convention centre kitchen is no easy task,” says Lead Manager for the Centre’s culinary partner, Centreplate, Andrew Pollard. “On any given day we have a dozen of simultaneous events, all with different catering needs, or single banquets for thousands of guests.”
Ken Cretney, General Manager at VCC, adds: “Despite the growth in results resulting from the addition of our new building and the growing specialised culinary requests by our clients, Blair and his team continue to prepare first class food and beverage.”
Rasmussen is celebrating a 30-year career in the industry, 25 of which have been with the VCC.
