Visit Maldives has launched its ‘Redeﬁning MICE’ global campaign to promote the country as a preferred destination for meetings and events. The campaign was launched during a special luncheon held during the annual MICE India and Luxury Travel (MILT) Congress in the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, 5 October.
Visit Maldives says the aim of the new campaign is to redeﬁne the business environment, which it believes is often considered somewhat sombre, serious and limited to boardrooms and conference halls. The campaign aims to promote Maldives as a destination for seamlessly merging business with leisure.
“Maldives is unparalleled in oﬀering that quintessential ‘laid-back’ atmosphere for thought-provoking and stimulating discussions. It is a special honour to launch our Redeﬁning MICE campaign here at the MILT Congress. There is no setting more appropriate to introduce our MICE oﬀerings than here in India, the most important market for Maldives tourism today,” said managing director of Visit Maldives, Thoyyib Mohamed at the launch of the campaign.
During the launch event, Visit Maldives, along with industry partners Baglioni Resort Maldives & Villa Hotels & Resorts, gave a presentation on oﬀers available for the MICE segment and latest information and travel guidelines, followed by conferencing and networking sessions. A raﬄe drawn for the Indian buyers resulted in one lucky winner and partner scooping a 3-night stay at Paradise Island Resort.
