Vivid Sydney 2023 programme announced
The 2023 programme for Vivid Sydney has been released. Taking place 26 May–17 June 2023, this year’s theme ‘Vivid Sydney, Naturally’ is inspired by humans’ connection to the natural environment. A culinary component is added to the festival for the first time; ‘Vivid Food’ will feature pop-up restaurants, multi-sensory degustations and appearances from chefs and producers. The 23-day event will have activations in various locations throughout the city including Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour, as well as icons such as the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Brisbane secures Chinese Nu Skin incentive for 2024
The city of Brisbane will welcome more than 1,000 delegates from Nu Skin China in 2024 for the company’s annual incentive trip for its top sales performers. The bid was secured by the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, in partnership with Business Events Australia’s Bid Fund Programme and Tourism and Events Queensland. Lawrence Zeng, Nu Skin China’s event director, said Brisbane’s diverse business events offering and outdoor lifestyle was the perfect combination. “We have chosen Brisbane because of its beautiful weather and various MICE resources, which will surely impress our attendees,” he said. The bid is the first incentive event from China to be won since the return of two-way quarantine free travel to Australia.
Perth to host Perfect China incentive celebration event in 2024
Chinese retail giant Perfect China will celebrate its 30-year anniversary by sending more than 3,000 delegates to Western Australia’s capital of Perth in 2024. Supported by Business Events Australia’s Bid Fund Programme, Tourism Western Australia and Business Events Perth, the programme will see the company’s top achievers travel to Perth to experience all that Western Australia has to offer. Australia has previously hosted Perfect China’s incentive groups in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
New ReefConnect programme by Reef Unlimited – Far North Queensland
Experience Co’s eco-friendly experience provider Reef Unlimited has launched a programme developed exclusively for the business events market. It offers a range of experiences departing from Cairns and Port Douglas, aiming to provide guests with a deeper insight into conservation, cultural awareness and marine education. In collaboration with Reef Unlimited’s marine research division GBR Biology, ReefConnect allows guests to engage in reef conservation projects, be immersed in the 60,000-year-old culture or become a marine biologist for a day by undertaking hands-on underwater data collection. ReefConnect’s experiences can be arranged for groups of up to 250 guests.
OneWall – Sydney and New South Wales
OneWall is an interactive teambuilding experience that combines street art and urban culture with team collaboration. Operating in various locations across Sydney and regional New South Wales, groups get a glimpse into the world of street art by creating their very own team mural under the expert guidance of the workshop’s instructor. OneWall supplies all materials and equipment including the pop-up walls, which can be set up in most locations. The experience is designed to promote creativity, teamwork and problem-solving and can be arranged for groups of up to 40 guests.
Sky Deck at Queen’s Wharf – Brisbane, Queensland
Renders of the new Sky Deck at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane have been revealed. Perched 100 metres above the Brisbane River, the venue will boast views that stretch from the city to Moreton Bay and Mount Coot-tha in the distance. The 250-metre long open-air rooftop will offer a restaurant and a glass floored viewing platform to enhance the views.
