EUROPE – Global exhibition association UFI is to merge its CEO Forum with UK events company tfconnect’s Global Event Summit.
UFI MD Paul Woodward (pictured) said the move comes as a result of listening to the market. “Senior players have been telling us that there are too many industry events and that one CEO event would be the way forward – we agree”.
tfconnect’s MD Trevor Foley added: “The focus for this merger has been on making sure that 1 + 1 is greater than 2. We fully intend that the new event combines the best attributes of the two individual events”.
Full details are promised at the UFI Congress in South Korea next month although UFI says its CEO Forum will take place in February 2014 in Paris, featuring elements of tfconnect’s Summit. A fully combined CEO programme is likely to be scheduled for early 2015.
