Worldwide Events, producers of travel trade shows including the Meeting & Incentive Forums and PRIVATE Luxury Forums, have unveiled a new event, Amour – dedicated to ‘marry up’ romance travel specialists and destination wedding planners with romantic experience providers. The new event is scheduled to take place 12-15 February 2017 in Venice, Italy and is designed to provide hotels, resorts and wedding venues with an opportunity to meet 1-2-1 with romance travel buyers. Organisers hope to attract 100 global buyers, consisting of destination wedding planners, honeymoon specialists and high-end travel agencies, concierge companies and tour operators. The hosted buyers will be matched with 100 global suppliers including tourist boards and DMCs, plus a mix of hotel, resort and venue brands. As part of the event, the organisers are also launching the inaugural Love Travel Awards – the first trade awards recognising the most romantic hotels and venues around the world. A vote put to international travel professionals will determine who will take home the 20 accolades at the ceremony on 13 February 2017. Andy Price, Amour & Love Travel Awards event director, said: “There are so many reasons to travel for romance today, but, although the romance travel industry is booming, there are currently very few ways for buyers and suppliers in the industry to connect with one another. To bring the industry together, we have created an annual event where genuine partnerships can be made. “We’ve received very positive feedback so far with many of the world’s finest resorts such as Soneva Fushi, Maldives and Armani Dubai already signing up. We look forward to welcoming many more industry representatives on board over the coming months.”
