UK-based sustainability technology company ZEERO has launched an updated version of its ZEERO EVENTS carbon measurement platform, adding new reporting features and integrations to help event organisers measure and report event emissions.

The update comes as organisations face increasing pressure to provide emissions data to clients and support wider corporate sustainability reporting, including requirements linked to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Designed for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector, the platform measures emissions from areas including attendee travel, accommodation, venue operations and catering, while identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact.

Nico Nicholas, co-founder of ZEERO EVENTS, said: “Carbon measurement can feel like a chore, especially in events, where there are so many moving parts and so much data sitting in different places. We wanted ZEERO EVENTS to do the heavy lifting for organisers, while also turning sustainability into something people can actually see, understand and engage with.”

The latest release includes an updated user interface, enhanced reporting tools and live data imports from Cvent through the Cvent App Marketplace, reducing manual data entry and connecting emissions reporting with existing event management systems.

Nicholas added: “Legislation, such as the EU’s CSRD, is changing what companies need from their supply chains and that includes the events they procure. Event planners are increasingly asked to provide credible emissions data that can support their clients’ own reporting requirements, so the ability to measure and evidence impact is no longer a nice-to-have. Our aim is to make that process far simpler by automating as much of the data input, calculation and management as possible, so organisers can spend less time wrestling with spreadsheets and more time making informed decisions.”

The platform also allows organisers and attendees to contribute to nature restoration and renewable energy projects as part of their events.
