SkyTeam, a global airline alliance, has announced that its data for January can reveal January’s top MICE destinations. One offering, Global Meetings, is designed to cover MICE events in North and Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Greater China, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. According to SkyTeam, data from Global Meetings demonstrates the most popular MICE destinations for 2024 thus far. These destinations are:
- Barcelona
- Cancun
- Buenos Aires
- Las Vegas
- Milan
- Nairobi
- Paris
- Prague
SkyTeam has additionally announced that Virgin Atlantic has joined their Global Meetings programme, offering greater access to top MICE destinations across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia and convenient connections via London Heathrow. Patrick Roux, SkyTeam CEO, provided additional statistics, saying: “Demand for Global Meetings soared by more than 75% last year versus 2022, with members flying more than 97,000 delegates to attend hundreds of events worldwide. “As well as adding Virgin Atlantic to the program, through other improvements including NDC compatibility and more options to pay in the currency of choice, we’re making the product more user friendly, supporting continued MICE recovery.”
Top destinations 2023
SkyTeam’s Global Meetings revealed that 2023’s top destinations included Amsterdam, London, Paris and Barcelona in Europe; Dubai in the Middle East; Los Angeles; Miami and Mexico City in the Americas; and Nairobi and Kigali in Africa.
