The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) and the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) have come together to invite an Emerging Leader to step in front of industry professionals and share their throught-provoking ideas on how to attract, retain and motivate talent for the business events industry. The selected individual will present their topic to 100+ industry leaders at AIME’s leadership forum ‘The Business Events Proposition’, sponsored by ABEA. The winning submission will be the ‘conversation starter’ to kick off the forum at the trade show in February in Melbourne, provoking industry professionals to think, listen, and share ideas about the topic. Full submission criteria, terms, and conditions are available on the ABEA website. Applications are open now until 1 February 2024. Submissions must include a three-page written response and a video presentation no longer than three minutes, addressing the question. The competition is open to ABEA members and their staff only. The ABEA defines an Emerging Leader as an individual aged 18–35, or someone who has worked in the industry for ten years or less.
