Accra City Hotel will open a new Events Centre in July 2025. It will feature 10 multipurpose halls and host up to 2,000 people. The venue is designed for conferences, business meetings, weddings and exhibitions.
The hotel says the centre fills a gap in Accra’s event space. Until now, Ghana’s capital has lacked a modern, purpose-built venue of this size. “The Events Centre reflects our vision to meet rising demand,” the hotel said in a statement.
The hotel says the new venue will create jobs and help local businesses. More events mean more work for planners, chefs, transport providers and vendors. Hotels, restaurants and shops are also expected to benefit.
A new multi-storey car park is being built to handle event traffic. The hotel will also open a new restaurant focused on African cuisine. “We are redefining event catering by showcasing Ghana’s culinary diversity with a world-class touch,” said the hotel.
The Events Centre is part of a wider upgrade to the hotel’s facilities. It also includes plans for sustainable operations, with the hotel committing to preserve green space and cut environmental impact.
The venue aims to attract international delegates and compete with major West African cities like Lagos and Abidjan. The hotel calls the project “a catalyst for growth” and a step towards making Ghana a leading destination for business and events in Africa.
