Aloysius Arlando to step away from Constellar in Singapore

Aloysius Arlando is to step down from his role as chief executive (venues) at Constellar Holdings (formerly SingEx). He will leave on 30 September 2021, in pursuit of personal interests. Announcing the management change, Constellar Holdings said newly appointed Group CEO, Jean-François Quentin, will oversee all matters, including venue management, from 1 October 2021. In events, he will be supported by Chua Wee Phong, chief executive (Markets), and the management team. The Board issued a short statement thanking Mr Arlando for his contribution and leadership and wished him “the best for his future”. The statement added: “He grew SingEx into a reputed player in both venue management and events business, building the events portfolio to more than 20 new-to-market events spanning industries including Industry 4.0, FinTech and Healthcare.” Arlando, who is also president of the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) and the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS), joined SingEx Holdings as CEO in April 2010, growing the business and becoming one of the foremost leaders in the global meetings industry. Arlando has previously been assistant chief executive at the Singapore Tourism Board, responsible for MICE and an UFI Asia-Pacific Chapter vice-president. He has driven many industry initiatives – including ground-breaking collaboration with ICCA and UFI associations in his role as AIPC president during the pandemic – and played a key role in the launch of the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) and Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP). During the pandemic, Arlando has been particularly active championing the reimagining events in hybrid form as Singapore led the world in showing it was possible to organise conferences and exhibitions in a Covid-safe environment. He has also been a driving force behind the 2020 Industry Resilience Roadmap project, which offered hybrid event solutions to professionals  preparing for  the post-pandemic landscape.
