Brisbane, Australia, has welcomed a newly transformed five-star hotel, following a US$20m refurbishment of the property in the CBD. Amora Brisbane is a 296-key hotel and debuts in a city that says it has a packed programme of global events in its MICE calendar for the year – and in the years to come. This US$$20m transformation is the latest property opening by Thai-owned Amora Group, following the launch of Amora Beach Resort Phuket in December last year after a $14m refurbishment. Amora Brisbane is the sixth hotel to join a portfolio of hotels and resorts in Australia and Thailand, with a pipeline of future openings in Asia Pacific. Narej Farik, Amora group director commercial and business development, tells CMW: “After emerging from our transformation, we are excited to cater to a wide range of corporate events. The hotel is unique in that it is nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. Our state-of-the-art conference set up can be customised to accommodate groups of various sizes and compositions, while our non-corporate event spaces, such as the pool terrace, provide the perfect backdrop for networking events.”
