Connected Event Group has partnered with Associations Forum – which has 600 member associations in Australia – to deliver an inaugural masterclass with a line-up of some of the country’s most accomplished events, marketing and association specialists.
The masterclass has been created for associations and the not-for-profit sector, one of the biggest drivers of Australia’s national business events market and to provide skills and confidence for those on the front-line.
Founder of Connected Event Group, Libbie Ray (pictured) said it was an important time to share experiences and knowledge with organisers and CEOs in this sector as they face a complex and new events and marketing landscape.
“This collaboration with Associations Forum comes at a critical time for the Association and NFP sector as they face decisions about how to reimagine their community engagement strategies and their events programmes,” she said.
The Masterclass is designed to educate and share knowledge about the new events landscape – lessons for virtual, hybrid and live events delivery. It will be practical and will feature case studies and tips from practitioners who have delivered hundreds of events and marketing campaigns.
Fatima Sunderji, general manager of the Associations Forum said the masterclass was a practical way to give its member organisations access to a timely professional development opportunity.
“Covid has had a great impact on associations and NFP events so we are delighted to offer this important masterclass.”
The presenters include:
- Libbie Ray, co-director and founder of Connected Event Group
- Andrew Klein, professional Speaker, MC and trainer
- Adrianne Bath, national sponsorship, events and mentoring manager, National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA)
- James Lawrence, marketer and co-founder and director of Rocket

“Covid has changed the opportunity landscape especially for associations and NFPs. One challenge is creating a fit-for-purpose event and then there is the often-daunting challenge of getting the marketing right,” said Libbie Ray. “We’ll have a lot of the answers in this masterclass.”
