ICMSA, with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Christchurch, and which claims to be Australasia’s longest-established Professional Conference Organiser, is celebrating 60 years in business. The agency was founded on 28 January, 1966, and current owner and CEO Emma Bowyer (pictured) thanked all previous directors, current and past staff, as well as the company’s clients, suppliers and stakeholders who have helped shape the ICMSA journey to-date.
“I am privileged to be able to continue the legacy of a company that was a trailblazer 60 years ago and still is today. Spending 20 years of its 60-year history with ICMSA has brought about extraordinary life experiences to me.
“So much has changed since 1966, but our core reason for our existence, to create an environment in which people can share their valuable knowledge with their peers and communities to better our society, remains the same.”
ICMSA recently topped a busy year hosting the company’s Diamond Jubilee Gala Event and said it had some very exciting announcements to make in 2026, as well as anticipating 30 conferences currently on its calendar – a mix of national and international across industries including education, science, finance, medicine, the environment, and mining.
“The team is particularly looking forward to delivering the International Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect in Melbourne in August on behalf of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (ISPCAN). We are anticipating delegate attendance in excess of 1,000 for this conference,” Bowyer said.
ICMSA is also looking forward this year to delivering its first conference in Scotland for the paediatric-focused Don’t Forget The Bubbles (DFTB) organisation (22-24 June). Another first in 2026 will be interspeech 2026 in Sydney in late September, which ICMSA will manage on behalf of The Australasian Speech Science and Technology Association (ASSTA) and the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA). The conference is expected to draw 1,000 participants.
