ICMS Australasia, which claims to be the longest established Professional Conference Organiser on the continent, celebrated its 60-year anniversary at a glittering event at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with 120 attendees including past and current clients and staff, former owners, and legends of the business events sector.
CEO and owner Emma Bowyer said she felt privileged to recognise such a company milestone.
“Being able to continue the legacy of a company that was a trailblazer 60 years ago and still is today, brings me enormous pride,” she said.
“So much has changed since 1966, but our core reason for our existence – to create an environment in which people can share their valuable knowledge with their peers and communities to better our society – remains the same.”
Guests were invited on an emotional journey through architectural lighting, projection and a soundscape of nostalgic recordings before being encased in a refraction of light, symbolic of the diamond, through a string quartet and a visual feast.
Following the formal proceedings, attendees were treated to a performance on a Grand Piano from CJ Jones, a 16-year-old protégé from Tasmania and 14-piece show of Moulin Rouge.
The team at Encore took the credit for bringing Bowyer’s vision for the 60th anniversary event to light.
