BCD Travel, a global travel management company, has joined the UN’s Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The SBTi is a climate initiative which aims to help the corporate sector reach the goals set out in the Paris Agreement. An emissions-reduction target is deemed ‘science based’ if it’s designed to keep global warming below 2°C (35.6°F) from pre-industrial levels. The move comes following Earth Day on Thursday 22 April. Kathy Jackson, Vice President and Executive Chair of Sustainability at BCD (pictured) said: “We’re proud to be part of the SBTi. Aligning our environmental strategy with science-based targets provides compliance with current and future regulatory requirements and ensures our contribution to achieving global climate goals for both BCD and our clients.”
