The Convention Bureaux of Bogota, Buenos Aires, Lima, São Paulo and Quito Tourism, has announced the creation of the South American M.I.C.E Alliance, an inter-institutional cooperation aimed which aims to “develop, promote and position these capital cities as M.I.C.E destinations, as well as increasing opportunities for hosting events”. The cooperation agreement is based on three strategic agreements, whose actions are established and prioritised in the short, medium and long term. The agreements cover exchange of best practices, joint promotional campaigns and positioning of the alliance’s brand, and exchange of key information and leads of previous events that could benefit all five members. Liliana Orbegozo (pictured), executive director of the Greater Bogota Convention Bureau, said: “The South American M.I.C.E Alliance is a clear reflection of our growth as a region, and we are convinced that, by working together, with empathy and solidarity, we will multiply the positive impact for our destinations. Through this inter-institutional cooperation action plan, aimed to the development, promotion and positioning of M.I.C.E destinations, we are committed to increase the number of event opportunities, thus generating more foreign investment and a recovery for the entire value chain of the sector.”
