The Calile in Brisbane has a new general manager with over 18 years’ experience in luxury hotels. Chris Kemlo joins the team from Crown Sydney where he was general manager of the super luxury hotel that’s part of the Barangaroo complex. The hotel has a main event space for up to 300 in theatre and a rooftop event space with capacity for banquets of up to 180 guests. Kemlo spent over 14 years at both Crown Melbourne and Crown Sydney. “I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing luxury brands and hotel openings however, when this opportunity came up, I had to jump at the chance,” said Kemlo of his recent appointment. “The Calile is a stunning property with a team that are equally passionate about representing the brand…My job will be to take a guest approach, people approach, and a business approach to make sure we have the right systems and operational processes in place. This will enhance the guest experience and take us to the next level.” The hotel is part of the Collection by TFE Hotels brand. “It takes a dedicated team to continually deliver elevated guest experiences across rooms, conferencing, events, and F&B,” said TFE Hotels’ Group COO, Chris Sedgwick. “And Chris’ experience in the luxury sector is certainly a welcome addition to the team.”
