British television broadcaster and award-winning author, June Sarpong MBE, has been announced as the Master of Ceremonies and will deliver the closing keynote at this year’s Cvent CONNECT Europe. The event technology conference, hosted by Cvent, will take place 14-16 October at the InterContinental London – The O2 and organisers are expecting 1,000 meeting, event and hospitality professionals to attend. The news follows last month’s announcement that Baroness Karren Brady, CBE, will deliver a keynote at the event. Sarpong (pictured) will also host two panel discussions covering important industry issues including women in leadership and diversity. She will close out the conference, presenting the final keynote, ‘Is Everyone in the Room?’ which will focus on the key role live events play in bringing people together, driving business, and offering opportunities to make more meaningful connections. The keynote will incorporate insights from her book, DIVERSIFY: Six Degrees of Integration, and address how companies can attain and retain a competitive edge by diversifying their employee base. Sarpong is author of two award-winning books and is co-founder of the WIE Network (Women: Inspiration & Enterprise). In 2008, alongside Will Smith, she hosted Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in front of 30,000 people in London’s Hyde Park. She has also interviewed and introduced some of the world’s most recognised names including HRH Prince of Wales, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Bono and George Clooney. Cvent CONNECT Europe this year will provide attendees with 70 thought leadership workshops, panel sessions and roundtable discussions covering the latest industry trends and best practices. New session highlights announced include panels on Women in Leadership, Diversity, Sustainability in Events and the Ongoing Impact of GDPR. For the Sustainability in Events Panel, Fiona Pelham, CEO of Positive Impact, will present key findings of acceleration action – formed from the results of event professionals across the globe taking part in a survey launched as part of the United Nations Sustainable Goal Summit. The full conference agenda can be viewed here. Attendees will also be able to engage and interact with the latest product innovations and enhancement from Cvent’s Event and Hospitality Cloud platforms in the Innovation Pavilion.
