Business Events Sarawak Association Centre reaches out to China

Business Events Sarawak Association Centre (BESAC), an initiative by Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB), has signed a MoU with the Federation of Chinese Physicians & Acupuncturists of Malaysia (FCPAAM).

The deal will see FCPAAM set up the first regional office as part of a united effort to reach out to spinal health practitioners in the Asia Pacific region and grow the Malaysian sector.

Amelia Roziman, Chief Operating Officer of SCB, said: “This is the leap that will propel the business events industry. Sarawak has a steadfast record of hosting world-class business events.

“Furthermore, the support from the State Government and local communities empowers the industry so this will inspire and encourage more associations to do the same.”

The partnership is just as significant according to Professor Dr Ng Po Kok, President of Malaysia Spinal Health Association, who said the new alliance between the Association and SCB would strengthen Sarawak’s appeal as a second tier destination with great potential in the business events sector.

“We want to be where the real impact beyond tourism is, such as knowledge expansion, networking, relationship and collaboration, education outcomes, fundraising and future research capacity, plus raising awareness and profiling,” added Dr Ng Po Kok.

BESAC is a one-stop-shop for global associations to expand in the region and is located at Sarawak Convention Bureau on Level 3, Plaza Aurora (formerly Kuching Plaza).
