The UK Butlin’s Conference & Events sales team is reporting an increase in requests for venues offering a range of fun and immersive activities and says it is responding to the trend by investing in developing new features designed to enhance the experience of corporate clients attending events on resort. In 2024, Butlin’s is investing in two new features–PLAYXPERIENCE a £15m (US$18.1m) indoor activity centre at Bognor Regis on England’s south coast, and new premium lodges at Skegness in Lincolnshire. Opening Autumn 2024, PLAYXPERIENCE will feature 50,000 square feet filled with a variety of cutting-edge experiences, including escape rooms, digidarts, techputt, lasertag, batting cages, shuffleboard, glowpong and a games arena – all under one roof. PLAYXPERIENCE will be a new option for corporate clients who are increasingly seeking to engage attendees by incorporating more elements of fun in their event design. The space will be available to hire for corporate groups, either as part of exclusive hire of the entire resort or as part of an event on a shared break. As part of the corporate package, activities can be set to free play and corporate event attendees can have the place all to themselves. Corporates can further customise their experience with drink packages, DJs or other performance acts. Dan Elliott, national sales manager at Butlin’s, said: “We are super excited to be bringing PLAYXPERIENCE to our Bognor Regis resort in 2024. It will allow our guests to take their events to the next level, both day and night, whatever the weather. The Skegness resort will also receive a further £12m investment in accommodation with 128 premium lodges opening May 2024. The premium lodges will be situated in the brand-new Maple Walk village five minutes from the heart of the main resort. The luxury lodges will each have three bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as private decking with outdoor furniture and parking space for two cars. This follows the £10m investment in Skegness developing the SKYPARK playground and establishing Studio 36 as a permanent event venue. Each Butlin’s resort has its own professional events team, AV equipment and Studio 36, a fully flexible, high-tech entertainment venue. Further information, contact: josh.engleman@butlins.com
