The Italian region of Calabria has announced that it will be hosting a new delegation of event-wedding planners as well as a selection of specialist journalists, 21-24 September, for an Undiscovered Italy Tour. Conceived and created by Daniela Corti Events with the patronage of the Italian tourism board, Enit, the last Undiscovered Italy tour was carried out in June. Now in its third edition, the initiative will be carried out in collaboration with Canadian tour operator Susan Barone of Luxury Weddings Worldwide and InStyle Vacations. Since the launch of the tour, the region has experienced an increase in tourism. A recent study conducted by Eurispes Calabria on tourist flows provided by CNA Turismo revealed that Calabria was in the top five of the most visited regions in Italy in summer 2020, preceded by Apulia, Tuscany, Sicily and Sardinia. The participants will be visiting places and venues suitable for wedding celebrations or international events, and will meet those who are in the industry locally. They will visit the provinces of Vibo Valentia and Reggio Calabria from various points of view: the venues, the food and wine supply chain, those in the industry and the services the provinces can provide for weddings or major events. The itinerary is sponsored by the Enit and the Chamber of Commerce of Vibo Valentia.
