The Megacampus Summit 2026 has been postponed from 6-7 March to September as instability pours across the Middle East. No hard date has been set yet.
“We put our heart and soul into this”
Founder of the event Grigory Avetov made the announcement on LinkedIn this morning. He stated that “We put our heart and soul into this”, but that the safety of all living in the region is far more important.
The event was set to be Megacampus’ biggest yet. Organisers were expecting over 7,000 participants from 102 countries at The Coca-Cola Arena. They claim that the summit would have been “the world’s largest intellectual event for entrepreneurs”.
With speakers like director James Cameron, chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen and award-winning author Robert Greene, the programme was set to be impressive. But, clearly with so much upheaval in the region it would not have been safe to proceed.
After strikes on Iran by the US and Israel, reportedly resulting in the death of Ayatollah Khameini, Iran retaliated by attacking US assets and neighbouring Gulf countries. One of the nations attacked was the UAE.
British newspaper The Guardian reported that Iran struck the Fairmont hotel in Dubai, setting it alight. Additionally, Dubai authorities have reported that debris from an intercepted drone caused a fire at the Burj Al Arab hotel and at Dubai International airport. It has been reported that three individuals have died in Dubai as a result of the strikes.
