China’s CNCC delivers three major events in 21 days

The China National Convention Centre (CNCC) has reported delivering three major events in Beijing in just 21 days, its busiest period since opening, according to the venue management.

The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Co-operation (25-27 April); Beijing International Horticultural Expo (opened 29 April and runs until October) and the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisation (15 May) all took place over the period.

The Executive General Manager of CNCC Ms.Yilei said: “With time constraints, heavy tasks and great responsibilities, CNCC had expanded new ideas, tried new models and focused on personalised needs… It was a tough fight!”

CNCC provided a total of 135 meeting room services for the Second Belt and Road Forum.

Smart technology was on show at CNCC Grand Hotel where the Forum staff stayed, and an adjacent newly-launched smart supermarket allowed shoppers to use their mobile phone and scan the QR code to enter the supermarket, self-checking out.

The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilisation followed the 2nd Belt and Road Forum and attracted 2,000 guests from 47 countries, and also 2,900 media representatives. Guests attended a welcome dinner at CNCC for the Asian Culture Carnival (mainly held at the Bird’s Nest stadium), part of Asian Civilisation Week.
