The recent launch of the Crown Ballroom in Perth, added further fuel to the Western Australian city’s growing reputation as an events capital.
The Crown Towers extension, which can host 1,500 delegates, is the latest part of Perth’s strategy to leverage and extend the 26% growth in international and interstate conference and business delegates over the past five years.
According to senior vice-president of global sales for Crown Hotels, Kylie Burchmore, Crown Towers Perth has set the aim of becoming Perth’s leading events space.
“With Tourism Research Australia telling us that Perth attracted over 54,000 conference and business delegates over the last five years, we saw the opportunity to capitalise on this growth and provide an impressive event space that rivals not only in Western Australia – but venues across the eastern seaboard as well,” said Burchmore.
The new Crown Ballroom in Perth emulates Crown’s Palladium Ballroom in Melbourne which is home to large scale events such as The Brownlows (AFL awards) and The Logies (TV awards).
The whole Crown Perth integrated resort can cater for up to 3,500 delegates at one time and individual spaces include: Crystal Club, a private lounge located on the 15th floor and Mansions, providing an accommodation option or for events for up to 150 people, while the Great Lawn overlooks the city and offers cocktail dining and corporate teambuilding.
