Destination Québec cité has appointed Stéphane Morin as head of its Business Tourism and Marketing Division.

As director of this new division, Morin will bring more than 30 years of experience in the tourism and hotel industry. He has held several management positions, including director of sales and marketing at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac for the past ten years.

“Business tourism is much more than hosting conferences and events. It stimulates innovation, promotes knowledge exchange, attracts talent and generates significant spin-offs for our economy as a whole. To fully realise this potential, we needed a leader who knows our industry intimately and who shares our ambition for the destination. Thanks to his remarkable career, his credibility with the players in the field and his exceptional knowledge of Quebec City, Stéphane Morin is the perfect person to lead this new division,” said Samantha McKinley, director of Destination Québec cité.

Quebec City is an exceptional destination. Its unique character, the richness of its tourist offer, its cultural effervescence and its business environment make it a natural choice for event organisers from all over the world. I am honoured to join Destination Québec cité and to contribute, with all of our partners, to strengthening the region’s positioning as a world-class business destination,” Morin added.

This new structure is expected to increase synergies between the teams, strengthen the destination’s competitive positioning and maximise the economic and intellectual benefits generated by this strategic sector.

Destination Québec cité now relies on three complementary divisions: the Destination and Partnerships Division, the Business Tourism and Marketing Division and the Business Intelligence and Digital Innovation Division. Together, these teams combine destination development, market outreach and strategic intelligence to strengthen the effectiveness of the organisation’s interventions and support the sustainable growth of the regional tourism industry.
