Global marketing organisation Destinations International, has launched a recovery campaign which it says is designed “to unify the meetings, events and travel industry”. Titled ‘We’re Here to Help’, the new campaign aims to demonstrate that when the unexpected happens and it is not ‘business as usual’, that convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs) play a critical role in the recovery process. The campaign highlights how CVBs can provide a level of intelligence that is essential in reimagining what a successful meeting looks like as we move forward in uncertain times. Organisations getting behind the campaign include the Events Industry Council, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, Meetings Mean Business, MPI and PCMA. The campaign offers a website linking to 120 CVB destination sites and contacts. “There is no substitute for people working together to overcome dramatic and difficult challenges,” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “This campaign shows the resilience of our industry and how when we come together, great things are possible. CVBs are the community connectors and will continue to be an essential extension of an event strategist’s team and help navigate what events will look like in the future.” For more information about Destinations International’s planner resources, visit: meetings.destinationsinternational.org
