An anticipated A$24m (US$16.2m) will be injected to the NSW (New South Wales) economy over the next few years as a direct result of the EduTECH Congress and Expo which returns to Sydney next year. One of the largest education events in the world is expected to bring 10,000 academics, training providers and industry professionals to share the latest insights into how the teaching landscape is changing. With over 350 speakers, hundreds of exhibitions and tech demonstrations, the event, to be held 12-13 June 2025 at International Convention Centre Sydney, will cover all the latest developments in education, from artificial intelligence and augmented reality to robotics and 3D printing.

Business Events Sydney (BESydney) supported the NSW government in securing the event. Minister for industry and trade Anoulack Chanthivong comments: “Sydney is the natural home for the EduTECH Congress and Expo – we hosted the first event back in 2011, and while it’s moved around the country since then, it’s great to have it back in the city where it all began.” Acting minister for jobs and tourism David Harris also weighs in on the importance of the event: “NSW is a leading hub for education technology with the sector employing 7,300 people and worth $1.4bn annually, which represents 39% of Australia’s EdTech revenue.” “Securing the EduTECH Congress and Expo for the next three years is a great outcome. Business events like these not only help develop the sector, they inject revenue into businesses across the visitor economy.”
