Kempinski Hotels has announced the promotion of Amanda Elder to the position of chief commercial officer. Kempinski is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, dating back to 1897. It comprises 75 five star hotels and residences across 33 countries. Elder joined Kempinski in 2014 as vice president of sales and marketing in China, where she oversaw all arms of business development. More recently, as senior vice president of business development, she led the teams responsible for Kempinski sales, marketing, distribution, revenue management and hotel public relations worldwide. Markus Semer, CEO of Kempinski Hotels, said: “Amanda has played a critical role in bringing our strategic roadmap to life across all aspects of business development. As we look to the next ambitious chapter for Kempinski, I have every confidence that these efforts will continue to carry us forward, working alongside the respective COOs in the region as we grow globally.” Elder has more than 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality field, including senior global sales, marketing and operations positions across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and China.
