HBX Group has acquired Spanish hospitality tech firm Civitfun. The deal aims to improve hotel partners’ digital service. With Civitfun’s tech, partnered hotels will now offer tools like contactless check-in and check-out.
HBX Group’s global hotel partners will have immediate access to Civitfun’s online check-in platform – which integrates with over 60 property management systems and serves more than 3,500 hotels in 36 countries.
Civitfun lets hotel guests check in online using a link on their phone or at the front desk. It also works with all the ways people book hotels – whether they book directly with the hotel, through big travel websites like Booking.com, or through travel agents/tour operators. It’s the only system in the world that connects with all of these booking methods.
The acquisition is part of HBX Group’s wider strategy to simplify the travel experience. “We chose to invest in Civitfun because their technology truly makes a difference to hotels and their guests,” said Nicolas Huss, CEO of HBX Group. “This collaboration will … simplify complex processes … reducing operational headaches and allowing hotel staff more time to focus on what they do best: looking after their guests.”
Civitfun managing director Mariano de Oleza called the partnership “an exciting milestone” that will open new opportunities in areas like automation and communications.
HBX Group is a Spain-based global B2B travel technology company that operates platforms like Hotelbeds, Bedsonline and Roiback. It connects travel buyers and suppliers through cloud-based tools, helping partners like airlines, travel agents and hotels grow their business.
