Hotel sales and marketing and representation company, hotel republic, has posted record turnover of £10.2m (US$13.10) its hotel conference portfolio for last year, including invoicing £1.2m in hotel fees alone.
The agency also booked its biggest ever event worth £1.7m during the period, as well as 75,000 room nights which translated into £8.2m million for its Leisure hotel portfolio.
Managing Director Kai Schomann said: “2018 was our best year since inception and 2019 looks set to be even better for hotel republic. We’re unlocking the UK market for even more clients after signing up new exciting conference hotels and destinations including Dusit Hotels, Valnest Hospitality, Denihan Hospitality group in New York and Bacardi Brand Home Collection.”
hotel republic organised a global hotel showcase at the Leadenhall building in London for all hotel clients in May 2018.
hotel republic is celebrating its 15th year this year and Schomann admitted it was a blow to lose its original client, Movenpick, after the Swiss chain was taken over by Accor. However, he added, the new client wins mean hotel republic will be hiring new sales staff in 2019.
