How coronavirus is impacting meetings: in numbers

The Research Division of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has posted the first concrete data regarding the impact of the coronavirus on the meetings industry.

The figures, dated 5 March, show the number of events in ICCA’s Association Database which have been affected by COVID-19. The Asia Pacific region has been affected more than Europe: of the 1,079 meetings in the database scheduled for 2020 in Asia Pacific, 84 were affected by COVID-19.

Of these, 66 were postponed, 16 were cancelled and 2 relocated. This can be seen in the graph below.

In Europe, there were 2,337 meetings in the Association Database scheduled for 2020. Of these, 10 were postponed, 2 relocated and 8 cancelled.
