As part of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) 50th Anniversary legacy, the association has launched their ‘Not Just a Drop in the Ocean’ CSR campaign, with the aim to rid the meetings industry of single-use plastic by 2050 – the year more plastic will be in the sea than fish (World Economic Forum report). IAPCO will be doing this with the help of the campaign’s mascot Ticky the Turtle. Ticky will be virtually visiting member companies who commit to taking action by signing the Plastics Pledge, make at least one measurable change, and share their achievements. The association encourages members to engage their suppliers, clients and local stakeholders in joining the campaign and sign the pledge. Ticky’s target is to visit 50 member companies within the anniversary year, thus ‘Ticking’ the box in getting IAPCO their 50 signatures and 50 real measurable changes. Download the pledge here.
