ISESCO General Conference and Islamic Solidarity Games head for Baku

The Azerbaijan capital, Baku, is to host a major Islamic cultural conference next month. The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), is to bring its 12th General Conference and 36th Executive Council to Baku, 7-11 December 2015. In May 2015, Azerbaijan’s president Ilham Aliyev met Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, director general of ISESCO, who was on a visit to Baku to participate at the 3rd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue. During the meeting Azerbaijan’s president had thrown his support behind the bid to convene ISESCO’s 12th General Conference in Baku. Azerbaijan will also host the 4^th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017. Members of the General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation that was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, voting to bring the games to the Caspian Sea state.
