Istanbul’s Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is reporting that 4,000 attendees were in the city recently for the World Marketing Summit (WMS 2018). WMS, one of the world’s most prestigious platforms for global marketing leaders and experts, was in Istanbul, Turkey, for the first time. The Haliç Congress Centre hosted the December event, with the conference being simultaneously broadcast live via social media channels & the ICC website. Professor Philip Kotler, WMS founder, headed the list of international guest speakers from academia and the corporate world. Described by the American Marketing Association (AMA) as “the most influencial marketer of all times”, Professor Kotler is widely acknowledged as the Father of Modern Marketing and has authored over 150 articles in leading journals and published 60 books. “We made the wind blow thanks to Philip Kotler, now we have to reach rocket speed to make Istanbul a rising star again in global marketing & branding,” said Şekib Avdagiç President of ICC & ICVB, adding: “There is only one way to make sure other people discover what your values are. It is the Art of Marketing that will help cultivate them…”
