Istrian Tourist Board and FC Bayern Munich announce strategic partnership

The Istrian Tourist board has announced a new partnership with FC Bayern Munich, one of the most famous football clubs in the world.

The collaboration represents one of the most substantial and significant marketing projects in tourism – strategically positioning Istria as a premium destination for holidaymakers.

The three-year partnership agreement was signed and presented by the director of the Istria tourist board, Denis Ivošević, and board member of Bayern Munch’s marketing department, Andreas Jung. The conference, held in Poreč, a historic town in western Istria, was also attended by Valter Flego, president of the region of Istria, and Croatian Tourist Board director Kristijan Staničić.

During the press conference, Denis Ivoševic expressed his delight at becoming the record German champions’ new partner: “FC Bayern München is one of the biggest clubs in the world and stands for the highest standards and quality, just as we do as a tourist region. We’re very proud to be an official partner of FC Bayern München and are very much looking forward to the joint projects.”

Istria is the only tourist region, not just in Croatia but in the wider Mediterranean region, that has initiated large strategic partnerships such as this. Through eight cross-promotional projects – from annual workshops to social media marketing and VIP events – the Istria Tourist Board hope to showcase the region’s landscapes, gastronomy and wealth of activities to travellers from Germany and across Europe.
