Florence-based professional congress organiser OIC Group, a company which specialises in the design and management of medical-scientific, institutional, and corporate events in over 60 countries, is to open a new branch in Brussels in Autumn 2025. The company says the decision to open the new office in Belgium is a strategic step confirms its European focus and positioning as a partner for international associations and institutions.
Entering into the decision-making heart of the European Union represents a natural evolution for a group that, for 50 years, has built relationships and value within the world of medical-scientific events. Founded in Florence, Italy, in 1975, the company now known as OIC Group, is also preparing for a rebranding in Autumn.
Leading this new phase is Irene Serio (pictured), who has been with OIC Group for over 25 years and has been president of the group since 2018. In April 2025, Serio assumed the role of CEO. She is the daughter of Annarita Bonamici, an important and inspirational figure for the world of association events, and she embodies the continuity of a solid family leadership.
She says her strategic direction is oriented towards sustainable growth, digitalisation and design quality. “We are going through a time of profound transformation, in which organisations must be agile, visionary and capable of operating in a truly international dimension. In our 50th year of activity, we choose to look forward, with the aim of strengthening the global presence of OIC Group, and consolidating a solid, innovative structure oriented towards generating sustainable and long-lasting value for customers, partners and territories.
Growth, for us, is not a question of volumes but of impact: it means bringing design culture, operational reliability and strategic vision to the most relevant contexts of the global arena,” said Serio.
