UK event agency Crescendo has promoted board member Julia Phillips from her position of Operational Director to Managing Director. With a client list that includes Farrow & Ball, White Stuff and Burger King, Crescendo also encompasses Fruitful, a dedicated team events business that Phillips founded before joining forces with Crescendo four years ago. “Having been on the board since I joined and looking after the operations side of the business during a period of significant growth it feels like a very natural and progressive step for me,” said Phillips. “I am delighted to have the support of my clients, colleagues and suppliers, and look forward to the next chapter in Crescendo’s successful history.” Russell Allen, founder of Crescendo, said the appointment of Phillips added to a growing number of female MDs in the industry. “I have known Julia for more years than she would have me mention and have thoroughly enjoyed working with her and watching her develop the team and business. “She embodies everything great about this industry and we are pleased to have her take up the role and join an all too small group of women who run agencies in our sector,” said Allen.
