Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) in Malaysia has announced key leadership appointments, including two internal promotions and one new appointment.
Jason Tan Chin Foo has been appointed deputy CEO, having served as general manager of business development and marketing. Since joining in 2012, he has played a vital role in shaping Sarawak’s global presence through strategic initiatives aligned with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Ms Anedia Kahar, a pioneer team member since 2006, has been appointed general manager of business development and services, having previously served as deputy general manager for business development and research. She has been instrumental in implementing Sarawak’s Legacy Impact framework and advancing event performance strategies.
BESarawak also welcomes Joachim Soon as general manager for capacity and digitalisation, responsible for leading talent development and digital innovation. He has extensive experience in training, communications, and digital engagement and will support the future growth of Sarawak’s business events ecosystem.
CEO Amelia Roziman stated: “As we near the final phase of our Legacy Impact Master Action Plan, restructuring is essential to keep pace with industry changes. Beyond developing leadership, we aim to bring in fresh perspectives to enhance the ecosystem and grow a stronger pool of experts.”
