The Landmark London has been ranked the best hotel to work for in the UK in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ 2020 list. The five-star hotel is owned by Khun Jatuporn, owner of Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company. The hotel also achieved the fourth position overall in the list, which ranks companies of all types. A Yougov report found that three out of 10 UK hospitality workers leave their role within 12 months, although The Landmark reports its staff stay on average for five and a half years. The listing celebrates the top UK 100 companies (with 250 to 3,000 employees) and this year marks its 20th year. The list ranks Britain’s best companies primarily through surveys of employee satisfaction and engagement and measures the organisation across diverse criteria, including leadership, opportunities provided for personal growth, staff wellbeing, work/life balance, how it gives back to society and the pay and benefits it provides. This recognition is proof that hospitality industry can be a great place to work. The hotel was also among the first to sign up to ‘Our Hospitality Commitment’, a UK voluntary code of conduct working with People 1st International. Brian Hladnik, Managing Director of Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company, commented: “We are exceptionally proud that The Landmark London hotel has been ranked the best hotel to work for in the UK and the fourth best company overall in The Sunday Times ‘100 best companies to work for’ 2020 list. It is a testament to our robust people programme and thanks to thehard work of our team and our continual investment in their development.” The hotel was also named as AA Hotel of The Year London 2019-2020 and was the first in the world to achieve The Investors in People Platinum Level Accreditation in 2018 and 2019. This resulted in it gaining the IIP Platinum Employer of the year 2019.
