2022’s Congress of Certified Accountants was held at the Altice Arena, Lisbon, recently. It was attended by government officials, including the Portuguese president, and used hologram technology. The three-day event was attended by more than 6,000 accountants from Portugal, who learned about sustainability and non-financial reporting, corporate responsibility, social entrepreneurship, sustainable economy, and accounting metrics and indices. This event brought together 25 speakers who addressed various aspects of sustainability on different panels over the three days. Among them was the minister of finance; the secretary of state for fiscal affairs; the president of the Portuguese association of accountants; the president of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC); and his excellency the president of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. The event featured speeches, workshops, and discussions – after which delegates attended a gala dinner. Provider Europalco supplied 72 technicians for the event. Technology supplied included roll-down screens and a holographic screen to project customised digital content. Additionally, A 50m x 14m main screen was set up at the Altice Arena for the event. A white lycra tunnel was established from the venue’s reception to its main hall, and delegates were provided with luminous wristbands which of lit up during some entertainment live shows.
