Business Events Tasmania (BET) will join the global business events sector in May when it exhibits at IMEX Frankfurt 2025, for the first time. Lutruwita/Tasmania is Australia’s only island state and the team at BET will be taking the message to the show, 20-22 May in Frankfurt, that they are ready to provide support to conference and meetings organisers of business events for up to 1,100 people.
The team says it can also help with event funding for those considering Tasmania as an event destination through the Tasmanian State Government’s Business Events Attraction Fund.
CEO Marnie Craig is keen to underline Tasmania’s sustainability credentials and its connection to the environment: “Internationally, momentum is building around these topics – and others – like carbon neutrality, proximity to nature and community, and individual wellbeing.
“We are already self-sufficient in renewable electricity, achieving net-negative carbon emissions for nine years in a row and is the third jurisdiction in the world to achieve a carbon negative state.
“We maintain 21 marine reserves, one of the largest World Heritage Wilderness Areas in the Southern Hemisphere, and approximately half of our land is protected in parks and reserves.
“Our state is best explained as ‘see clear here’. We provide an opportunity to take a different look at the world – to stop, breathe in and exhale,” said Craig.
