The first wave of Amway China delegates has landed at Melbourne Showgrounds for Australia’s largest-ever incentive programme. Running throughout April, the event will see six waves of 2,500 delegates attend business sessions and gala dinners.
Melbourne Showgrounds’ 35,000sqm of event space will service as the anchor venue for Amway’s business sessions and gala dinners. To cater for this vast event, the Showgrounds have had to prepare a huge menu.
Over 11,000 crayfish and 4.5 tonnes of porterhouse steak will be served in total to Amway delegates. The venue is working with Encore Event Technologies and Dean & McPherson to deliver this banquet.
The incentive, marking Amway China’s 30th anniversary, is expected to generate $100m in economic impact for Melbourne and Victoria. Delegates will stay in eight hotels across the city, accounting for 32,000 room nights and dining at 50 restaurants.
Amway selected Melbourne Showgrounds following multiple site visits, including a visit during the 2024 Melbourne Royal Show. “The selection of Melbourne Showgrounds as the anchor venue for these key events was a highly competitive process,” said Hannah von Bibra, executive general manager, experience and commercial. “The team is immensely proud to have been chosen to play such a pivotal role in this landmark event.”
“On the special occasion of Amway China’s 30th anniversary, we are excited to meet in Melbourne for our Leadership Seminar,” said Carl Wen, director of special events at Amway China. “Our delegates look forward to gathering to share knowledge and discover all that this incredible city has to offer.”
