Messe München has announced that Christine Heizmann (pictured) will take over as senior director guest events and locations from 1 January 2026, assuming overall responsibility for all guest events and congresses across the company’s four venues. Guest events form a vital part of Messe München’s operations, with around 93 events hosted across its sites last year.
The venues – the ICM (International Congress Center Messe München), CCN (Conference Center North), MOC (Event Center Messe München) and the Trade Fair Center – help make the Bavarian capital a leading global destination for conferences, exhibitions and corporate events.
Heizmann joined Messe München in 1999 and has led all events at the MOC since 2008 in her role as director events. In her new position, she will take overall charge of all Messe München locations, succeeding Nicola Hamann, who has held the role since January 2025. Heizmann currently serves as Hamann’s deputy.
Hamann will leave the company at the end of 2025 for personal reasons and plans to return to her former home in the United Kingdom. “It has been a great pleasure to lead the guest events business at Messe München and to work with such a dedicated team,” Hamann said. “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in a short time and delighted that Christine Heizmann, with her expertise and passion for events, will continue and develop the successful course we’ve set.”
Messe München’s CEOs Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel paid tribute to Hamann’s contribution and welcomed Heizmann’s appointment: “We regret Nicola Hamann’s decision to leave, as she has laid important foundations for the continued growth of our guest events and congress business. We thank her for her commitment and wish her all the best for the future,” they said. “At the same time, we’re delighted that Christine Heizmann will take on the role.”
Heizmann said she was looking forward to the new challenge. “For the Guest Events & Locations team, customer focus and service excellence are key. Our goal is to create a tailored experience for each of our national and international clients across trade fairs, congresses, events and corporate gatherings in Munich.”
From 1 January 2026, Heizmann will report to Falk Senger, head of division, who reports directly to Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer.
