Michael Foreman tells CMW he has left his role as sales and marketing director at the UK-based TFI Group to focus on reigniting his consultancy business. He says he is starting with the unveiling of a new approach to helping meetings and events ‘do good’ within their host destination communities and beyond.
Foreman’s ‘Kindology’ concept is part of a new international consultancy offering.
He says he developed Kindology with colleagues from the charity and creative sectors, Lionel Salama, Michael Alloun, Michael Isaacs and Suki Gallagher.
The concept was put to the test in an initiative with ECCO, the European Cancer Organisation, at is annual congress in Vienna.
ECCO and the Congress achieved significant awareness through the #GoTheExtraMile Campaign within the local community, as well as educating the Vienna public about some key facts regarding cancer prevention. €100,000 was raised for a local cancer research institution.
“Kindology is a concept that I have been thinking about for a number of years and it is fantastic to see it come to fruition,” says Foreman. “I have been involved in international meetings for a long time and know that many associations and their members are passionate about their specialist areas and causes. This holds true too for corporates who can use their events to amplify their CSR objectives.
“Kindology is a vehicle to assist them to engage better with local communities, raise awareness of the issues they are facing and create a source of funding to support research and charity initiatives. Most importantly, it helps build a legacy from an event and gives it a higher purpose beyond the content sharing, education and networking opportunities.”
Foreman has over 20 years’ experience in the international meetings industry and is a former chair of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO), as well as being former MD of international organiser Kenes UK.
