MyCEB signs accord to drive heritage products and promote local entrepreneurs in Sarawak

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has announced a fresh collaboration with Centexs Commercial Services (CCS), a government-linked company (GLC) whose mission is to amplify the commercialisation value of heritage products and foster opportunities for local entrepreneurs in the state of Sarawak. The project is part of MyCEB’s drive to cultivate robust relationships within the local ecosystem. By joining forces with CCS, MyCEB is not only bolstering its efforts to position Malaysia as a global business events powerhouse but also fostering a healthy synergy between the national bureau and local stakeholders. The Memorandum of Co-operation (MOC) between MyCEB and CCS represents a shared vision to harness Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit to drive sustainable growth in the business events sector. The strategic alliance is designed to unlock new opportunities for local entrepreneurs and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents and products to a global audience. MyCEB will leverage its network and expertise to support CCS’s initiatives in promoting and marketing products made by community-based entrepreneurs and nurturing the technical and digital skills of Sarawak’s youth. Both organisations will work to co-develop training programmes and exchange market intelligence. Expressing his excitement about the partnership, Mr Azman Haji Tambi Chik, the MyCEB CEO, commented, “This partnership reflects MyCEB’s dedication to homegrown talent and to amplify our nation’s presence on the global stage. Together, we are poised to unlock new opportunities and elevate Malaysia’s business events landscape to unprecedented heights.” Mohamad Shahren Mohamad Yusri, general manager of CCS, added: “We are thrilled to partner with MyCEB in this endeavour to empower homegrown entrepreneurs.” During the visit to Sarawak, the MyCEB delegation additionally took part in several activities, including a dinner with the Sarawak business events industry stakeholders, participation in the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen 2024 conference, and a courtesy visit to TV Sarawak (TVS).
